I went to make a photo of the grain belt sign and instead I found the sign and the boat. I heard that the boat partially sunk in the winter of 2013 and the last time I was at the sign, the boat was no longer there.
I found myself in the area and I walked up the river toward the Hennepin Avenue Bridge to get an image of the sign and when I got to the other side of the bridge here was a red boat moored under the sign. Total Serendipity!

I was hoping that I'd see a scene like this before we made it up to our destination in Grand Portage. We were driving from Cotton Minnesota to Grand Portage via the backroads and I was enchanted by the snow laden trees along with the blue skies and clouds

After going down some stairs covered in snow and ice I found myself at the bottom of the Stone Arch Bridge and discovered all sorts of graffiti on the bridge

While driving to Ely Minnesota through the Isabella Minnesota area, I was astounded by all the snow. I stopped the truck and got out and put on my widest lens and started getting some images of all the snow on the trees and the newest snow on the road
I found this doorway across from the river near the Hennepin Avenue bridge and I really like the feel that it gave me

While driving to Ely I was struck by the conditions of the road, specifically how the signs just popped out as the only color in the scene, so I stopped the truck and got out to make some images. In post, I put a tilt shift effect on the image which makes all the trees seem very small, almost miniature.
